Line and Spirits Sank

Sadly, I have to agree with the previous reviewer who said the line didn't float. I was all prepared for the evening spent mayfly rise on Lough Arrow (Ireland). The 5-7 line cast well but the fly didn't sit up on the surface. Drying, false casting and spray floatant all failed to prevent it drowning. Then I realised the fly line was sinking slowly and pulling the fly down with it. Changed to a reel loaded with a cheaper WF7 floating line and the fly sat up as proud as Punch. Guess I can always use the Thistledown Floating Line for wet fly and nymphing...

Did not float very well

Tried the flyline over this past weekend. Did well except I had to apply Mucilin to
keep it afloat. Probably needs more research to make it float better.

Thistledown

Line is awesome! You can use one reel for three different wt rods.

Great multi weight fly line!

This line casts beautifully. I’ve only used it on a 4wt rod so far, but I’m confident it will work equally well on my 3 and 5wt rods. Line shoots out really well for those longer casts.

first look

Pleased; I purchased the XS-Plus 2wt-5wt (That I spooled on a Pflueger Medalist) a little over 30 days ago and so far, it has been used on an 8ft' glass 5wt and a 7' carbon 3wt. In both cases, the line excelled my expectations. With both rods being used in calm and moderate wind conditions, along with using wet and dry flies in the 14-18 size range. The casting range, accuracy and adaptability of this line matches that of lines twice this price point.
